So the creations by London Paper Crafts are gorgeous! I LOVE beautifully-designed stationary, and tbh when I got married it took a lot of self-control not to blow the entire budget on it. The company is run by Janine Wallace-Dowse, and covers the whole of the UK, offering beautiful, premium designs for weddings and more!
How did your business get going?
It was born from a love of creating stationery for the special people in our lives. We love to see the joy on people’s faces when they receive stationery that is personal to them; you can’t beat the look and feel of having beautiful stationery in your hands!
What do you think is special/unique about what you offer? We’re keen to get to know our customers and create stationery that is unique to them which has a premium quality and feel. Our philosophy is to develop lifelong relationships with our clients so we can work with them to celebrate events throughout their lives. We manage each order via Trello with each client having their own board to manage their stationery project. Here they can communicate with us directly and follow every stage of their order from conception to delivery. Transparency and trust are fundamental to any relationship which we pride ourselves in doing in London Paper Crafts.
What do you love about your job?
I love working with people and seeing the joy in creating stationery that brings their ideas to life - making their special event distinct and commemorative.
What inspires you? Simply being creative- I take inspiration from things that I see, like our ‘Ivy Inspired’ suite which was created following a visit to Highgate Cemetery. Do you have any advice for couples planning their big day? Be true to yourselves, create a wedding that is true to you both- if you want a super traditional wedding, go for it. If you want an alternative wedding, do that! What you will want in years to come is to look back at your photos and say “Yes, that really was OUR wedding- a real day to remember!”
Do you have a favourite wedding venue that you’ve worked at? Fasque Castle in Scotland. It’s stunning! What is your favourite style to work in? I’m loving the minimalist design approach right now
What is the thing you’re most proud of? It's cheesy to say, but my own wedding stationery 😊 We created a two-foil embossed design on triplex and in a pocketfold with a vellum bellyband, and a variety of inserts to involve our guests in our wedding day such as our ‘Favourite Song To Dance To’ & ‘Menu Choice’ cards.
What’s next for you and London Paper Crafts? Developing our green (eco-friendly) ranges for our wedding stationery and developing our Bat/Bar Mitzvah range.
