Engagement shoot: Ed & Sabeha, Tower Bridge and St Dunstan-in-the-East

Updated: Mar 30

I had a wonderful morning in January with Ed & Sabeha, shooting their engagement photos around some of London's most famous sights, before moving on to the gorgeous St Dunstan-in-the-East. The ruined church in the City is one of my favourite photo locations in London; it's so dreamy, and perfect for engagement shoots.

The happy couple met by chance at an east London pub on a hot sunny day in May 2017. Ed was sitting watching the football with a friend - only after having gone out for the day at the last minute - when Sabeha came in. There were limited seats in the room so, showing true Aussie confidence, she approached the table and asked whether she could sit down while waiting for a friend. Following an entertaining afternoon and evening, which would take in another bar and several drinks, they soon met up after - and the rest is history...

It was Bali, June 2019, when Ed had a lightbulb moment during a couple's massage. Having decided to propose, he went searching for a ring on the final morning and soon struck gold (well, citrine, to be precise).

In the evening, they were taking a walk and found a deserted white-sand beach. Stalling for time, Ed began taking pictures of Sabeha and asked her to return the favour; randomly (let's call it fate), Sabeha ASKED ED to kneel down so she could capture the boats in the background that he was blocking when standing. If there was ever a perfect cue to propose, that was it, so when Sabeha gave him back the phone, he grabbed her hand and asked the question...luckily she said yes!

Sabeha has tackled the wedding planning head on, though there are still more than a few items left on the to-do list. The couple are getting there with their planning and hopefully in time to relax before the big day! They are getting married in August 2020 at the beautiful Granary Estates on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border.
