Real Wedding Preview - Dan & Lucy at Fulham Palace
So I LOVE Somerset, and it may be my favourite place to photograph weddings.

I was born in Taunton, raised near Castle Cary, my mum is from Burnham-on-Sea and my dad grew up in Bristol, so I'm decidedly a local girl! There are so many amazing places across the county, so whether you are looking for a Somerset wedding venue, inspiration on where to have an engagement shoot, or would generally like to learn a bit more about this awesome place - read on!

Natural & Creative Wedding Photography for Relaxed Couples
If you're on this page, I'm guessing you're engaged and looking for a wedding photographer?! Firstly, huge congrats to you both! I got married a few years ago myself and all the planning and excitement is still very fresh in my mind. Secondly, huge congrats for finding me - your search for a wedding photographer is over!

Well...hopefully? It would be awesome if we were a good fit for each other, but I appreciate choosing the person to capture your special day is a huge decision! Once you've swigged the champagne, eaten the cake, and your wedding shoes have sunk into the grass and got covered in mud, the photos are one of the things you'll be left with to remember it all.

My approach to wedding photography is pretty chilled-out. I work in what is called a 'documentary' style; so I'll be documenting your wedding through photos - like a visual story of the day. I stay in the background most of the time so you can forget I'm there and just enjoy yourselves! I'm a friendly, relaxed person and I won't be imposing on you with a two-hour magazine-esque shoot during your reception, or by distracting you and your guests while you're trying to have a good time.

"Genevieve is a fantastic modern photographer with timeless photos. She fitted in with our guests and wasn't intrusive throughout the day. The final photos are beautiful and we love the ones where people are relaxed enjoying themselves. I would recommend her to anyone!"

"Genevieve was amazing! Neither of us are very comfortable having our photos taken but she made us feel so at ease. I can’t express how happy we are with how the photos have come out!"
How I work on your wedding day
What I do
-
I document your day as it unfolds, looking for genuine moments to capture; hugs, kisses, laughter, silly moments, etc.
-
I try and be unobtrusive so you and your guests can forget I am there, relax, and just enjoy your wedding.
-
I am warm and friendly and aim to put people at ease, as I know most people aren't fond of, or used to, being in front of the camera!
-
I prefer finding moments authentically, and while I do take couple shots, I won't spend hours posing you. I'll encourage you to just be yourselves and have some fun! It's also a great opportunity to just spend some time together, which is usually in short supply on what is, after all, YOUR wedding day.

What I don't do
-
I don't make people stand around for ages while I set up extravagant shots, and nor will I be posing you like dolls.
-
I will never get in people's faces, ask them to 'SMILE', and pull them out of the moment.
-
I won't spend your whole reception doing thousands of group photos. They're no one's favourite part of the day, and I like to help them go as smoothly and quickly as possible, so you can focus on yourselves, your guests, and celebrating.
-
I avoid posing artificial moments, or forcing you to recreate them.
-
I don't expect you to plan your entire wedding around getting 'the perfect shot'; I won't be ordering you around or monopolising your time.
